Avani Mahila Sanstha- Encouraging Women
Starting with the first Self-help Group (SHG) for women with 21 women in the year 2001, Avani Mahil Sanstha, a state-level NGO cum Organization was established in the year 2004. The Sanstha (Organization) was expanded to Self-help Groups (SHGs) consisting of total 25 such groups each with 21 Women in it.
The whole objective of these SHGs is to help needy and poor women by guiding them in starting their own small scale businesses such as Kirana stores, Tiffin(meal) service, providing mid-day meals to schools, Tailoring, papad & Achar business, Pay & Park services, School Van Services, Snacks Corners and similar work fields cum businesses that can be started with very small funds but Empower Women and make them confident, stronger and Independent in society. These SHGs also assist women in the groups in raising capital by providing them loans and guide them in raising funds through Government schemes. Avani Mahila Sanstha has empowered till now 700-800 poor and needy women and enhanced their lives.
Avani Matimand Mulanche Nivasi Vidyalaya- Home cum School for Special Children
Avani Matimand Mulanche Nivasi Vidyalaya (Residential School for special children) established with only 2 children in the year 2009 in Murbad. The school now has 50 children and 10 Faculty/Staff. The campus is Spread across 3 acre of land in the Rural-Advasi village Maal, Taluka: Murbad, outskirts of Thane.
The school is registered under Charitable Trust Act, 1950, Reg. No. A-423, dated: 31/10/2009 Pune, Maharashtra and is managed by the founder and her family.
The School educate Mentally Challenged Children So called Special children of 5 years of age onwards with basic learning skills (like reading, writing etc), Sports (Indoor and Outdoor), Physical Training (P.T, Yoga, Exercises), Nurture and Groom with developing ADL (Activity of Daily Living things) skills, Provide vocational training (Candle making, File making, Art & Craft, Diya Painting, Lantern Making etc), Teach them marketing skills(Money Transactions, Pitching skills, Communication skills etc) to improve their IQ & EQ.
School provide them conducive environment to cope with their intellectual Challenges and grow them with confidence and independence.
